what is going on?

In a gist: UK and EU customers can still order from TheCoffeeMonsterzCO like before. There are just a few special cases as outlined in the below scenarios.

Reason: The UK and EU have implemented new VAT regulations on imported goods from all countries. Our goal is to make shopping as cost-effective and smooth for you!

Scenario 1: Buying only stickers and other flat paper goods
You can purchase directly on our website. There are no changes from before.

Scenario 2: Buying only 1-4 rolls of washi tape + stickers and other flat paper goods
You can purchase directly on our website. There are no changes from before.

Scenario 3: Buying less than £135/€150 worth of bulky, non-paper goods
(e.g. charms, keychains, pencil pouches, stamps, etc.)
You will receive a non-avoidable VAT invoice retroactively . Your order will then be sent to a distributor for shipment. This saves you a pricey handling fee (yay!)

Scenario 4: Buying more than £135/€150 worth of bulky, non-paper goods
(e.g. charms, keychains, pencil pouches, stamps, etc.)
You will pay for your order like before. VAT and handling fees may be collected at the border.

calculate your budget

Since there are hefty taxes to consider now, your budget may change. First, find out the VAT % for your country here. Then, use the below formula to calculate the value of products you can purchase based on your budget:

[BUDGET / (1 + VAT%)] - SHIPPING = PRODUCT VALUE

Example:
My budget is $50 for an order.Shipping is $5.My country's VAT rate is 20%.
That means I can purchase:
[$50 / (1 + 20%)] - $5 = $36.67 worth of items.

Note that VAT is collected on your entire payment (i.e. after coupons, after shipping)

other tips

For scenario 4, consider placing consolidated orders rather than multiple small orders to avoid handling fees. Either placing 1 large order for yourself, or placing 1 large order with a friend from your country!
